Let us introduce the up and coming new football talent of NI - STAR UTD. We have been working with Aaron from Star Utd for many years now on the embroidery and print on their kits. This season he approached us in relation to working alongside him in not only supplying the new 21/22 kits, working on the design element of the kit but to be a sponsor also. The timing couldn't of been more prefect as we had recently started working alongside the sports brand Acerbis Sportswear suppling football kits, rugby kits, basketball kits to running and tennis wear.
Star United is a long standing youth football team within the Ballymena area spanning the last 30+ years. During this time there have been a couple of high profile names that started their careers off here under the guidance of Arthur McClean, notably Brendan Rodgers and Michael O'Neill. Over the years as junior football teams grew within the area Star United might not be a name many are as familiar with. However one former player, Robert Crawford, decided to revive the club a little over 6 years ago. Training with maybe only 20 kids a night Robert was determined to give every kid a chance to play football. Slowly but surely word got around and the numbers grew. Star United became like a second family with many parents getting involved. As Roberts work commitments changed this saw Aaron Todd take over the reigns, also a former player. What drove Aaron was the club ethos of giving every kid a chance. Too often it was heard about kids as young as 7 being left on the sidelines. With this at the fore front the club now trains close to 60 kids, both boys and girls born between 2009-2016, again with the help of many parents. Currently Star United has a 2013 and 2014 team taking part in the Friday night small sided games at Ballymena Showgrounds. Saturday morning sees 2011, 2010 and 2009 teams taking part in the Harry Gregg foundation. Hi-Vis clothing is essential for keeping workers safe when working near traffic, cranes, forklifts or other vehicles. It is absolutely needed when working at night or in low-light conditions. The primary role of hi-vis is to separate wearers from whatever background environment they are working in, quickly and at a distance and from all angles. This lowers the risk of accidents happening as everyone can see each other on site.
Being such a vital safety element at work, it's important that garments are somewhat standardised, controlled by legislation and certified as such. The current legislated standard certification is: EN ISO 20471. Should I Invest in Customised Hi-Vis Clothing? All hi-vis tends to look the same, especially at distance, which can be a problem on sites where there is a mix of businesses working together. If your employees are wearing vests branded with your logo, you are distinguishing your team from those of other companies. More than that, banding your hi-vis clothing will embed your business into the subconscious of the public or other businesses. See it as a form of company branding. you never know, your next customer could be watching. It doesn't just strengthen your company image either, it strengthens your team's bond by creating a sense of unity. Your employees will feel more aligned with company goals and values and more motivated. How Often Should I Replace Them? How often you replace your hi-vis depends on a few factors, but they might not last as long as you would think. Every item has a recommended shelf life, but it depends on how they are used. If they're being in hazardous conditions, such as extreme weather or temperatures, the hi vis garments will not last as long. The key is to keep an eye out for these factors:
Keep this in mind: When they no longer work to keep you safe, it is time to replace your hi-vis. If you are looking for hi-vis clothing that is high-quality and comfortable, we have a wide range that will suit your needs.
