As the year draws to a close it's time to look back over some of the projects that have kept us busy this year. From the one-off jacket backs for birthday & Christmas Presents to the many polo shirts for larger companies, the hoodies for school trips and dance squads, the football kits, the wooly hats & baseball caps, table cloths and Irish dance dresses, the list goes on. A massive thank you to everyone that we have had the pleasure of working with at Sewpro this year and wishing you all a happy & successful 2015!! It is always great to get some feedback on past projects. This email was received this morning from the Curator of Textiles, National Museums Northern Ireland.
'Trevor Many thanks for the dress that I collected for the museum yesterday. I enjoyed showing it off when I got back to work, everyone loves it! The photo here doesn’t do it justice (it will be recorded properly by the museum’s photographer in the new year) but might give you some idea of how it will look on exhibition. This quick photo was taken in the textiles department store on the only mannequin I had free, obviously in the exhibition gallery it will be displayed on the right size figure with specially made support underneath to show the dress to best effect. Thanks for doing such a great job, please pass on my thanks also to the dressmaker. Best wishes for Christmas and New Year from all at NMNI. Regards Valerie' This is a quick video of one of our embroidery machines doing it's thing and stitching out part of the design for our dress. This is just one tiny section of the overall design & we hope we don't give too much away before the dress is presented to the museum this Thursday!! |
